Kenneth B. Heitkamp is the President of Heitkamp Consulting, LLC, the consulting firm he founded in 2008 to support corporate and government executives in acquiring and using information technology to improve enterprise performance.  He participates directly with client executives and staff to solve strategic, business development, and operational challenges involving the acquisition and effective use of information technology.  He joined the Ryan Consulting Group Board of Advisors in 2015.

Ken Heitkamp has over 40 years of information technology, software development, acquisition management, cybersecurity, and consulting experience in the Federal Government and with industry clients.  He completed an  Air Force civilian service career serving in information technology, cybersecurity, engineering, acquisition management, and program management positions. His last assignment was in a Senior Executive position as Associate Director for Life Cycle Management for the Secretary of the Air Force’s Office of Warfighting Integration and Chief Information Officer. He established the Information Technology Commodity Council to perform enterprise-level strategic sourcing, cybersecurity, purchasing, and life-cycle management.

Mr. Heitkamp served in senior positions at the Air Force’s Standard Systems Center at Maxwell-Gunter AFB.  Positions included Executive Director, Technical Director, Program Acquisition Executive, and Program Manager for major Air Force and DoD programs. He has directed an 800-person Software Factory. He also directed the Air Force Network Operations Center managing critical network infrastructure supporting over 200 locations worldwide. 

He earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Auburn University and is a graduate of the Air War College, Air Command and Staff College, and the Harvard University Senior Executive Fellowship Program.
